G-Dragon World Tour 2013 : One of a Kind

22nd of June 2013, is one of the days I had enjoyed my life to the fullest.

Yes folks, you saw the photo right.  I indeed have gone to G-Dragon’s first world tour concert 2013 in Malaysia, “One of a Kind”!
 (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))

Now I humbly invite you to the memory lane of my experience during the fantastic concert by G-Dragon, the leader of  Big Bang.

I reached Stadium National Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur at about 6 p.m. with my sister and her friend.  The concert was supposed to start at 8 p.m., so we lingered around the stalls that sold all kinds of G-Dragon goodies.  We purchased a yellow light stick to wave during the whole time of concert and a muffler to swing around during one of the songs performed.  Also, some other things we had been tempted to buy.

After that we proceeded to queue behind a long line of people.  At first, we weren’t really sure what were we queuing for.  But after asking some of the staff that happened to pass by us, we found out that line was not the entrance towards our ticket zone yet, but it was the main entrance to enter the stadium.  Wow, no wonder the line was so very long, it was a mixture of all zones of fans waiting just to get in the stadium!  Such a huge place Stadium Bukit Jalil is…  Want to see the sea of G-Dragon's fans queuing? (゜◇゜)

Ta-da~!

Isn't it an amazing sight?  We had to wait in that long line for about an hour to get inside.  Well, considering the size of that place along with the large crowd, it was to be expected it would take a lengthy amount of time.  Thankfully, there wasn’t any problem being escalated as we got in.

Now inside the stadium was a whole different story, the battle started here.  We had to sprint our way towards where the concert stage was set up; we wanted to be near the front line of our zone!  But of course, we weren’t the only one who ran there.  Competitions, competitions...

When we had settled on our spot, we sat down; both as a form of guarding our jumping space and resting our legs.  The screens displayed G-Dragon’s past music videos and the crowd sang along the lyrics as they occupied themselves watching it.  Seconds grew to minutes, the videos have repeated itself countless time as the clock ticked passed 8 p.m.  Burned with anticipation, the fans were eagerly chanting out the singer’s name in hope for his appearance.

Then all of the sudden the crowd started shouting louder than usual.  I took a quick glance at the lighting crew, they were standing up! (Yes, if they are in their posts, means the concert is about to start.)

Music gradually grew louder, and then ‘BANG!’.  An explosion coming out from the stage ultimately geared up the fans' excitement to the peak.  A glass sports car drove along the main stage, and at last G-Dragon made his grand appearance on the ethereal crystal automobile.  The first song called ‘Michi-GO’ played to the highest beat, followed by ‘Heartbreaker’.

It was all a blur to mind when it comes to screaming your lungs every time a song comes out, so I couldn’t really remember the details properly.  But there was one time where G-Dragon had actually sat down on the edge of stage, facing my direction.  And all of the crowds behind forcibly pushed me forward.  I was sandwiched, literally, because of the push and pull situation.  Regardless I stood still, refusing to let anyone slipped past me.  My physical power wasn’t really strong before, but somehow in each and every concert I went, there it was, my strength firmer than iron steel.  Fortunately some fans stayed away from me for fear of getting stepped on since I love to jump haphazardly.

…For those whose feet had been stepped on by me, I apologize for my hyper activeness. (;-_-)ノ

The dancers on the other hand, were also popular among the fans.  When the dancers went down the stage near our zone, I saw some of the fans got to shake hands with the dancers.  Mind you, I felt quite jealous about it.  The female dancers were all very pretty!  I like how they brought themselves up on stage.  Also, not to forget the male dancers, they were quite a looker!  Did I mention there were twin male dancers who love to interact with the fans?  Both of them were really cute that night. Not that I know how to differentiate between the twins, with that similar feature and costume...

G-Dragon's performances were simply awesome.  My favorite live stage was when he began his song, 'Obsession' with its haunting melody being tuned to life.  He appeared on stage wearing a simple black jacket with fingerless leather gloves, and sang out the words.  The song is about a woman that he was utterly infatuated with. About the woman who had accepted him as just a friend, and nothing more.  Therefore, he sang out his frustration on how he wanted her to only look at him.  After what it seemed to be an endless love for her, he had turned it into an obsession.

A woman wrapped in a velvet red cloth was seen to be standing in a large gold linings portrait frame.  As G-Dragon rapped, he slowly made his way up a series of ladders on the stage, getting closer and closer to the object of his obsession.  And as he came close to reaching her, she fell out of the frame, down and down she fell.  The song came to an end as the red curtain descended over her and G-Dragon was on his knees, portraying his grief over the loss of the girl he loved.

G-Dragon put up another stage as a continuation of 'Obsession'.  He paired up the last image of his loss expertly with his next song, 'She's Gone', which expressed a similarly intense sentiment.  While still up on the ladders, G-Dragon dramatically performed this emotional performance as he gradually descended back onto the main stage.  This combined performances left a deep impression in me, particularly how brilliant it was to make it into a theater-musical concept stage.

All good things must come to an end.  It was a remarkable concert.  But I shall preserve it in my mind always.  Luckily, some of those memorable moments were caught, here they are...
